Hi guys, received my ps3 today. The ps3 power's up but i get no display and it doesn't respond when i tap the reset button but does go into standby when i hold the button down for 5 seconds. I've tried loading a game and can hear the drive reading the game but i can't get any display. I did manage to get display once when i first got it out of the box but it crashed at the date and time setup screen. Its as if the console is crashing as soon as its powered up.

I have contacted the seller and will send it back to him tomorrow but i thought if i could try and see if anyone else has had this issue and what they did to solve it. Thanks in advance.

I had this problem with mine sombody set it to HDMI. You have to plug it into a HDTV with the correct lead then change it back to standard for it to work.

If you turn on the PS3 with no picture on then you need to reset the video settings and heres how to do it.

Make sure the PS3 is in standby mode, meaning the LED is RED.

Then power it on but hold your finger on the power button for at least 5 seconds and you will hear a beep. This will bring the PS3 back to default video settings.

Thanks for the reply guys. I did try the things you guy's advised but it didn't work. There was a fault with the console so I've returned it back to the supplier and should receive another one in a week or 2.
