    i have a question for everyone, i have two games transfered from blu-ray to hdd, but my ps3 hdd is only 80gb. i would like to buy a 500gb internal hdd, is there a way that i can copy my old drive with games on it to the new drive.

    thank you all in an advance

    i have searched forums on this site, but not found an answer.

    you can only copy the internal hdd to an external device, and later back to the internal.
    if you want to do this you need to run the backup function of the ps3.
    and you need a big enough external hdd (fat32 formatted).
    after you put in the new internal hdd and formatted it, you can load the backed up content to your new drive via the ps3 backup function

    In the XMB, go to System
    Go to Settings > System Settings > Backup Utility

    or if you simply want to keep the games... you can simply ftp them onto your computer.... and then, when the new drive is inside the ps3... ftp them back to the new hard drive

    thats right. i always forget the easiest solution.

    Beside the ftp, you can also copy the games with a backup manager to a usb stick/hdd without backing up all the other files.

    The internal backup utility is more useful for a complete backup with game saves, pictures,music,etc.

    the ftp thing, what speed will that be. and is there already a post on how to do it.

    since this jailbreak thing comeout, i have started to get in to this ps3 scene, makes my brother sick, as he was before the only one using the ps3 machine. lol
