Interesting BD drive "issue" –

Hello.
So I ran into a new issue with my BD drive. It seems after a reboot (and I mean reboot, which means no actual shut down, or red light) the BD drive stops working properly. Here are some examples :
I boot into recovery mode, start firmware update. The PS3 reboots, starts updating, and at around 60% greets me with 8002F14E error and tries to reboot to reinstall firmware, resulting in the same error.
So i actually shut down the PS3, then boot it again. The PS3 updates fine, no error message, then reboots into the XMB, and now, the drive will not read any disc (it does swallow and eject them though). Once I turn it off again and boot again, it will read the drive.
I have tried a few things, such as :
Taking apart the BD drive, only the controller board plugged to the PS3. Same thing happens during recovery update.
Downgrade to 2.80 then update back to 3.55 as an attempt to update BD firmware, same result.
Remarry (downgrading to 2.30 in the process) and upgrading again to 3.55. Same issue.
Turning off the PS3 right after it finishes preparing update on recovery (when it shows a black screen before the update screen) and turning it on again. PS3 updates without error message, but after rebooting to XMB, the drive still doesn't work until i turn it off again.
Note that this also happen during XMB updates.
Also, the drive works perfectly fine, swallows/ejects discs, reads them... just stops working after any kind of reboot that doesn't actually shut down (solid red light) the PS3 in the process until I shut it down.
I am completely clueless. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? Not like it's really an issue, but it's annoying and I would like to solve this lol.
Thanks.
