IDEA - Application to modify played games list
IDEA - Application to modify played games list –
I dont know where I should post this, but I have been thinking of a couple methods to prevent sony from knowing exactly what has been ran on the playstation. for example I read that during the boot playstation connects to playstation.net and sends usage information.
So my idea would be an application that would modify the recently played games list.
Another idea I have is to have the backup loaders have an option for PSN to sign off when inside the backup loader and sign on when the backup loader has closed and then sign on to PSN.
Other information, and please correct me if I am wrong because I really want to figure out something to help out the community. I do not think sony implemented anything within firmware 3.55 that would send information to them about what specifically is on the hard drive, defiantly in the next update sony is going to want to know whats every console has been doing and what is on it to analyze. Does anyone have any specific information about what information gets sent to sony at boot and when you sign on to PSN? If it is simply a list of previously played games my original idea of being able to modify this list with a randomly generated selection of real games should clear out multiman 1.30 being listed in that list lol. We would just need to figure out where or how this list is stored or generated prior to being sent to sony or if even there is a list that is sent to sony.
other ideas would have to be the backup loaders need to change the game title so if you happen to be on PSN it should list a random game name thats valid from the ps3 game library and would throw off sony. This would eliminate the need to even change any previously played list. If that can not be accomplished then if the backup loaders can somehow send a command to trigger a PSN signoff and a PSN signon when the loader is loaded and on exit.
I do program for a living, although I have not done anything on the ps3 and I am going to start reading up on the psl1ght sdk and hopefully talk to some developers, so if anyone else develops and would like to help me out design or come up with ways of implementing this that would be awesome. After we can create a proof of concept we can help the other devs of the backup loaders implement our code.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
