i think my ps3 has green light of deathh

i have a 60gb CECHA01 i do not know the history of this console all i know is it doesnt display audio or video using hdmi or composite cables i have a 1080p tv so it will display any resolution i tried to enter recovery menu it doesnt work no video no audio controllers wont sync i tried removing the old thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol and applying artic silver five that i use on 360s all the time but still the same problem can anyone help? and also this is a great community that i hope to be a part of soon :)

er, have you reset the display first?

If he tried to go to the recovery menu, you end up resetting the display when you do that anyways.

Your system is likely bad, it happens.

Nothing wrong with a bit of cheese when needy

Backup your data of course
Anyway what firmware are you on have you reinstalled firmware v3.41 just to make sure and of course factory reset and formatted HDD. How many hdmi inputs do you have on your TV try another - then try another TV.

This is all basic but of course make sure you have covered all possible angles. If it is indeed dying and you have done the cooling thing find yoru reciept if its less than 5 years you may still get free refurb/fix (UK - in with letters/hassle etc)

thanks for your reply, the firmware on the ps3 is unknown i have tried different hdds and different cables,different tvs all the same still no audio no video i tried good old composite cables and still the same problem i have opened the machine and tryed to reflow with no prevail :(

you mean your normal scart leads do not even work ?!

Do you believe the PS3 works other than audio and video? I doubt it but.......

you can try to UPDATE firmware via data storage blind if you recall your xmb

I am unaware whether navigation changed during any stages ie if you were on a very old firmware it might have been different

and update via usb with 3.41 as follows

PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

cant do that my controllers wont sync for some reason and yea scart dont work

bump i need to get this fixed so i can sell it for homecoming tickets

please help me someone???
