I need more USB slots
I got a 60GB PS3 with only 2 USB slots. I am thinking of getting a PS3 Move kit, can anyone tell me if it needs a USB slot?
At the moment I am using my USB key and external drive and have no spare slots.
What about a guitar, skateboard, driving wheel etc? Do they also need USb slots?
Can I buy a cheap USB hub and use that to give me more?
Thanks for yr answers.
As far as I know, official sony products don't need USB slots unless you're charging them.
I believe USB hubs do work, though some people have reported you're better to get an externally powered one rather than powered off the USB.
I have a slim and use one of those hubs that clip onto the PS3 itself and has four usb ports and a SD card slot. It allows me to leave my hdd plugged in and my dongle and never remove them so long as they are both plugged into he same shared port. And my Rock Band kit came with an externally powered usb port and it works great. I have had six things plugged in at once and they all worked/charged just fine.
That is what I use and the external powered hub if needed but not often.
This 4-Port USB HUB meets your requirement if your ps3 is slim edition.
this one looks better Media Expansion Bar but of course cost more looks like $20
Do not use your external HDD with a hub. Always connect it directly to the PS3.
all ACTIVE usb hubs are working!and hdd works fine on ACTIVE usb hub.
It sure does, how else would you connect the camera to your PS3?

I correct myself, do not use your external HDD with a non-powered hub.
