i have interesting question for knowledgable in ps3 firmware

back when i got my ps3 it worked normal on my philips tv
then after one upgrade it stopped receiving the HDMI handshake with my philips LCD and CRT televisions
the ps3 still works fine on samsung, lg and the rest
what could have been changed in the firmware and can someone reverse engineer it?
also this ps3 i am using is US version, but up to the FW3.00 or something it worked perfectly fine with my philips tv?

would anyone hava any idea how to maybe fix this>?

that has something to do with HDCP handshake

either.. wait for the rebug firmware, since there's an option to turn it on/off.

I have a Toshiba Regza and it was having handshaking problems with all HDMI devices, I ended up downloading an upgraded firmware for the TV and updated by usb. It's not had the problem since.
Might be worth checking out the support forums for the TV.

i didnt mention that i borrowed almost exact PAL version of the console, that works on both of my philips tv's w/o problem

so it has something to do with US version i guess

do you know when that rebug fw is due? or where i can get one to beta-test (brick :P) my console?

oh yes, sony support told me that i was extremely lucky that ps3 worked that long on the PAL territory, since it is not supported...they didnt know how it worked pretty much on every other single brand lol
