    Hi,

a friend of me want to go Online with his console, because he wants to play online.

From the day he has jailbroken the ps3 he wasnt online and never tried it.

How to bring the console back to OFW without any traces of an older CFW ??

Should he install the 3.55 again ??
After installing the OFW are the folders with the backups gone ?? If not, how should he delete it ??

He has already backups from his savegames.
    Tutorial for multiMAN: (All Versions)
    1. Start multiMAN (Dont need LV2 anymore)
    2. Choose your desired game on multiMAN.
    3. Mount the game with a click on X.
    4. Say NO to a start without going to XMB.
    5. Now you are on XMB. Click the disk/game icon and have fun.

A format after installing OFW again should theoretically work.

    Don't know for sure though.

Otherwise, get one of the log scrubber programs (LogJam might be best), install it, uninstall all the rest, run the log scrubber, uninstall that, then install OFW. I think that should leave you clean but I don't know if the ps3 records uninstallation of stuff, in which case it would recall the LogJam thing.

You might be able to find a "stealthed" log scrubber around also.

I don't know if any of the log stuff is stored on flash, otherwise I'd just suggest formatting the hard drive then install OFW 3.56 from recovery mode.

    I agree with this...

However, safer to format the hdd and update to OFW.

Im sure there are probably still ways for Sony to check so he will never be 100% safe but its the best way.

i would back up what ever saves you got and what not, use LogJam and then format to be on the safe side, tho like everyone says, no one knows for sure if traces will be left behind still.

Yes, i think also that a format will do the rest.

But like someone said, we still dont know what sony logs.

If it is in the flash, than there is no way to delete it.

Thats the price that we have to pay to have some fun with the jailbreak.

    Thanks to all the answers
