I don't have a CFW, so I'm wondering if there's a way to get my Console ID?
Some people say my console ID is located on the white label of my PS3 but some other people say it's not the real console ID.

Console ID?
Only thing I know is
1. The Model Number
2. Your Mac Address
3. Your system version
4. Your PSN User Name / User 1/ User 2 (for default users)
or
http://psx-scene.com/forums/f6/psidpatch-1-5-a-81988/ (PSIDPatch 1.5)
That article is kinda old but it shows you your valid ID or to change an ID but you need CFW for that.
You need CFW get access to your console id.
but I heard you can get your console ID by sniffing your PS3 network through a proxy server. At least that's what ps3devwiki said:
ps3devwiki dotdot com / wiki / PSID
I'm just not sure how.
That may be true, I was just considering a direct approach.
Direct approach? I've said I don't have a CFW in my first post.
Does anybody know how to get it out of wireshark? Does it pop up when you sign in, or after? Cause there will be a lot of packets to run throu to get my console ID. I don't even know which kind of packet am I looking for.
Got it. The PSN packets were all encrypted, so I couldn't find my console ID.
So, I ran a custom proxy server with a valid passphrase for PSN and bingo, the packets become unencrypted and found my console ID.
That's pretty impressive. I would have never thought to sniff out the console id from packets sent to PSN. Theoretically, you should be able to unban a console with this. Is that what you are going for?
so where do you inject the pass phrase and whats the packet look like that you send to the ps3
