How do I restore Vflash 7
How do I restore Vflash 7 –
I tried to do the dual boot on the ps3 rewriting the vflash after a few failed attempts I gave up but I have a feeling that vflash7 partitioned my HDD with less 20gb, now i tried to restore everything I backed up prior to doing this but I dont have enough space on my hdd now, is there anyway to restore the vflash to its original state.
Ive tried reinstalling CFW, formatting the drive on the PS3, tried puttting the hard drive into an external caddy but well my pc doesnt recognise the hdd and when it does it sees it as write protected. Is there anyway I can get all my hard drive space back, any help appreciated, otherwise ive lost all my saved games. As I cant restore my backup
EDIT: What OS are you on? If you are on windows 7 type in "disk" in the search bar and than click on the program that says "Create and format disk partitions." When you have the drive hooked in that program should say it has to initialize a logical disk or something like that, just hit ok on whatever settings it has, than find the drive that has X amount of space unallocated and right click it and hit format. MAKE SURE IT'S THE CORRECT DISC THOUGH.
I haven't a clue on Windows XP but it should be similar. Just use the disk management utility that comes with XP.
Your best bet is to go into recovery menu and do a format there. If that doesn't work simply remove your drive from your PS3 and hook it into your PC with a SATA cable and the power connector and format it there. You can get instructions on how to format the HDD with your PC from the video's on how to install petitboot from gitbrew.
You don't need a USB to SATA unless you have one. Just plug the HDD into your computer with a standard SATA cable and power connector and than go to disk manager on windows. After that format it in either NTFS or FAT32. After you do that plug it back into your PS3 and it will ask you to reinstall your firmware and format. If you are on 3.55 put in the official 3.55 firmware on a USB stick and follow the instructions, than reflash CFW afterwords. If you have 3.41 than stick in official 3.41 OFW and than go to CFW or continue with a dongle.
EDIT: Also if you have an ESATA docking station you can use that as well. Just put the drive in that, and simply hook the ESATA cable up to your computer (if it has an esata port.)
Here's the video which can help you out as well if you are on windows 7 : [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upu6X3m8rV0"]YouTube - Installing Ps3 Otheros and Petitboot.[/ame]
Report back if you need any help and I'll be glad to help you.
No luck on anything even the ps3 cant access the hard drive during in recovery mode
Did you try accessing it with windows or something? What os are you using? If it's not working in the PS3 you have to format it with either windows or linux. that's your only other way m8.

I still need to know what OS you are on with your PC so I can help you further. Otherwise I can't help you.
