Hi newbie here on a phat CECHG01 *
I've been doing my fair share of searching this topic before I posted and I couldn't find anything concrete. Essentially I have a pre 3.41 fw and want to go to a 3.55 cfw, but I would like to backup my firmware so I can have bluray playback if i needed to downgrade.
I was looking around and saw a few things about /dev2/ /dev3/ that needed to be backed up but I never found the actual tool to do it and what i needed to do to run that tool.
thanks

So can i use the ps freedom/groove or w.e its called on my ti-84 on pre 3.41 fw and run those apps? *or have they been signed to run w.o a jig
Or would it be best to dump it on 3.41/3.55?
Also is there a program where u can read what kind of fw version a pub file is?
Thanks

install Hermes 3.41 CFW from XMB then install blackbox1.2 and log into ps3 using WinSCP (or filezilla whatever) and backup dev_flash2 and dev_flash3. Dev flash_3 is where the DRL files are that get fooked up during a downgrade.
It should be mentioned that if you are upgrading from either the XMB or from SAFE MODE (recovery mode) you will not lose bluray...Only by downgrading from 3.55 or 3.50 will you corrupt your DRL files that are in dev_flash3. The files are corrupted when the service jig (dongle) goes into factory/service mode if my memory serves me correctly
