help with update

hello all,
my friend asked me to use my ps3 to get formatted his hdd as his ps3 was stuck with update loop. So we reformatted and updated his hdd in my ps3 and then I just pun my untouched hdd back in to my ps3 and was asked to update as well.

Do you know what I mean?
Now I'm afraid that after update ill lose all my saves coz as usual I didn't back up my hdd

if its only asking for update then you wont loose your saves you will only loose them if you format your own hdd.

yeah but ps3 asked me update via service mode.(press sel and start togheder etc.) i cant even start mxb. thx
