Help, PS3 Broke

So I don't know what is wrong my PS3 was working 100%. I turned it on to test out an app and now I get a yellow blink then three beeps that leads to a blinking red light. So I need a reflow or reball or can I fix this myself somehow?

My legit console just did this too. I'm looking for someone local to reflow/reball. That's the best solution I've found. Good luck to ya. :)

It's the beginning of the end of the PS3 unfortunately, you can perform a reflow on it yourself (I used gilksy's tutorials on youtube). It's easy to do and you'll get another couple of months out of it if done properly.

Otherwise you'll need to find somewhere to get a reball done with leaded solder so that it would last much longer.

I reflowed a 40GB fattie day before yesterday and have commissioned it as a media player in my front bedroom. I've got it next to a window feeding it cold air to the point the air coming out of the back is cool as well so it should last a while longer than if I was playing games on it.

I honestly only play maybe 8 hours a week and no more than 2 hours at a time. This deck has little use on it, I even replaced the AS5 added a 40gb PSU and did a mod to the fan to make it run much faster. It is by a window and a a/c vent as well. POS and I just updated my slim. Now I am going to be one of those OMG OMG OMG where is the 3.60 exploit, just not on the forums but in my head. I am getting a reball done to it and I am going to trade for a slim as a reflow is just a band aid as the YLOD is like herpes you can treat it but in the long run it is going to come back.

Anyone know how to find someone that reballs ps3s?

Yeah, if anyone knows of a UK reballer I'd love to know as well in preperation for when my 60GB original console dies.

Not sure I'd be doing it myself...lol...

buy 100% lead .6mm solder balls, a heat gun, and the ps3 bga templates, then heatgun the chips off the board, dont use your hands to pick up the chip.. clean all the solder off the ps3 board and chip, with solder clean wire and also make sure you flux, apply balls to chip, heatgun them on, then apply chip back to board, make sure you put tin foil around so you dont burn the board or anyhting else.. then heat gun the chip back to the board.. it only takes a few secs at 5-600 i think F and it will be resoldered to the board.
