    ive tried to post my full account of my problem no links. after instant ylod i now get green light for 10 seconds or so then a fan burst and off after a number of different fixes including rsx ihs removal. not cell ihs.

    After removing the RSX's IHS, what method did you use to replace the thermal compound. If not done properly w/ just the right amount, you will encounter the symptoms you mention, meaning your system isn't transferring heat properly & very quickly overheating. Also, did you use a little bit of liquid no clean flux under the processor itself & reflow?

    I have now successfully repaired over 200 PS3 consoles w/ long lasting success after perfecting my technique. It's never a guaranteed permanent fix, but the majority are still running several years later.
