Help fixing Blu-Ray Drive –
My cousin had a burnt out laser in his CECHA01 console. He needed a KEM-400AAA. I bought a KEM-400AAA and replaced it, put it back together.
The playstation turned on fine, it accepted a disc but nothing happened. Now when I press the eject button it does the 3 beeps as if it was empty. I tried holding down the eject button but did nothing.
Before I screw up anything more, what do I need to do. Sending it to Sony is not an option.
Nevermind, I got it fixed.
I'm guessing the KEM-400AAA was set to a mode that thought there was a disc already in. So putting in a disc made it move into a mode where it thought no disc was in (thus not letting me eject the disc).
I took it all apart, took out the disc, put it all back together, and now it's working
