    Hello,

Many PS3 are plagued with a strange sickness, his HDMI port stops working. No video, no sound. However analog PS AV out works great in 1080p.

There is no device detection between audio/video systems and PS3 through HDMI. I can play using component but on some TV's there is an awfull lag input.

Why the HDMI out stops working and is there a way to fix it ? Which chip handle HDMI connections ? Is there some protections devices (hardware or/and software) to prevent hdmi power surge ?

    Any idea ? Thanks !

you're over thinking it. Unplug your PS3 and unplug your tv for 5 minutes. When you plug them back in it will force them to resync on hdmi. If that doesn't work, do the video reset. Turn off your ps3 and hold the power buttun until you hear the second beep
Fiery the angels fell. Deep thunder rolled around their shoulders... burning with the fires of Orc.

Who is over over thinking ?

I already did all "soft" tests like reset vidoo mode... This is why I am asking help here. Tested this PS3 on several TVs, projector and audio amp. Neither have worked. For example, when I try to setup audio through HDMI I get an "detection problem" error on PS3. Most of time screen is simply a blank screen, sometime some pixel garbage appear briefly on screen but nothing more.

Yes, tested with others HDMi cables. Those cables has been also tested with others device and work. Again, this is a well known problem with no fix at this time. Try "ps3 hdmi stop working" on google...

I know there is alot of devices with that problem.
With all kinds of TV you need to reset the ICS (or other sh*t). You unplug anything that is in hdmi port, unplug power cord, leave it for few hours (to be sure 24h) <-- that method helped few people with TVs that had black screen hdmi problem.

Other than that few devices like amplituners like to have similar problem (and my Samsung TV too) and its fault of capasitors on mother board, you need to replace them with new..

Im very curios which one from those two ps3 have problem.
