HDMI problems: I don't hear voice acting ingame –
I have this problem in almost every game: Final Fantasy XIII, Eternal Sonata, Naruto..
The music and sounds play well but I don't hear the voice acting throughout the game?
I use a hdmi cable. My tv supports hdmi but maybe its crap? Or i use a crap cable? or is it because of some settings somewhere in my ps3?
I completed ffxiii but without hear the actual voice acting.. it sucks
Oh and if i play with composite cable i hear the voice acting. But once you go hdmi you never want to go back to composite or scart lol
I had a similar problem with white knight chronicles. Original disc worked fine, but from BM I had no voice acting during the cutscenes.
I was using Hermes payload without disc, but tried PL3 with disc and it came back using BM!
I think it is a payload thing.
There is also a setting somewhere in audio setup. Keep it on 44.1khz & 48khz stereo (2 channel) I think it is. Someone else can probably advise better as I`m in bed now
Sounds like you're trying to play 5.1 channels on a stereo setup, the voices usually come from the center speakers in a 5.1 setup and if you don't have one you won't hear anything, make sure the audio settings are correct in your XMB like the previous post suggest.
It could be something completely different but hey, it fits.
i have been having the same problem and it happened after my optical cable wnt bad and i had to switch over to the hdmi for video and audio with a rca out. problem was fixed after i changed my ps3 to output in 2ch only. I assume when i get my lazy ass to the store and get a new optical cable all will be well. oh yes and the ps3 is plugged into the tv and tv to stereo where normally the optical is ran directly into the stereo from the ps3. hope this helps.
Where can I change the settings to 2 channel only?

All the voice acting games have subtitles but i still feel like missing parts of the game.
What could be the problem?
