Hard Drive Upgrade Question
Hard Drive Upgrade Question –

Hey folks.
Here's what I have:
40GB CEGH01 w/ a 160gb HD
kmeaw 3.55
Multiman 1.15.03
I want to put a larger hard drive in. I'm aware I can accomplish this using the backup utility on Game OS.....but will this backup my newly-placed folders as well? ie, I store my backups in a custom folder on root. My emulator roms are also in a custom folder. Will I have to go through the hassle of backing those up separately?
Alternatively, is there a way to ghost the drive bit by bit? I didn't have any luck googling this, just a bunch of speculation.
Thanks.

As far as I'm aware, the backup utility backs up the whole hard drive from a - z, so your game folders should still be there when you transfer it over to your new HDD

a bit by bit of 100GB drive even with compression is going to be a huge backup (not impossible ... just huge)
i've found ghost to be buggy when trying to do complex tasks (heck it messed my source partition with doing a drive to drive clone ... shouldn't of even touched the source partition).
try another backup solution ... driveimagexml (freeware)
pretty good but there are some limitations
i would try driveimage xml and back up each partition, then use gparted if i was going to recreate the partitions on another drive
other solution of course would be to try Acronis True Image; it's commercial and i've heard it is pretty good
