Is there that much of a difference between the two?

    I can get a 500GB 5400 RPM for $59.99, which the 500 GB 7200 RPM is only $10.00 more expensive at $69.99.

just go with the 5400 rpm, the difference in speed would only be realized with a gigabit connection, and still would be negligible.

plus you'll save yourself $10. but for that, you should check out that iomega for sale at staples right now. it's listed in the buy/sell section. it's a 1tb external for 59.99.

Well i personally went for a 5400 RPM as that is what comes in ps3 as standard!

    Also bigger harddrive=more heat!
    faster hard drive=even more heat!

    And i didnt want YLOD.
