GTA:IV Mods..

Is it possible to mod gta for the ps3 since we can ftp to the hdd? I know we can edit the common.rpf file on the xbox 360, would this work for the ps3 as well? i can upload the common.rpf file for anyone that might know how to mod it.

Edit: Tried opening the vehicles.img file with sparkIV, and it works but the car files have different file extensions than ones for the PC. CFT and CTD if I remember correctly, rather than WFT and WTD

If anyone is interested in checking these out, I can upload some of these to look at. Hopefully they aren't too different from the PC files.

for whatever reason try and compare the matching files. CFT/WFT c=w, they could be the same.

Lets get the gta 4 ps3 mods rolling.. Ill upload any file needed if they think it is possible to mod it.

Have you tried looking over at the 7sins forums for GTA IV mods? Iv found that some game mods work same for PS3 and Xbox 360. It does for Just Cause 2 at least.

K, Thanks for the help. So now that we can edit things in the common.rpf, how hard would it be to add new vehicles like you can on the pc version? Or is that even possible?

Ok, i tried adding a new vehicle in by changing the file from .wtd and wft to .ctd and .ctf then going into the common.rpf and adding in the values to the handling.dat, vehicles.ide and carcols.dat. But i only made it to the loading screen and no further so what i think we must do is find a way to mod the ps3's version of GTA:IV. Like i said a few posts up, if anyone wants to take a look at any file what so ever ill be more than happy to upload it. I just personally want to have on the ps3 what the pc and xbox 360 versions have and i know its possible the only thing thats different is the way the file ends.

Pc= .wft and .wtd
PS3= .cft and .ctd

Edit: My s/n for aim is twistedmtl1514 if you wanna get at me quicker if you need a certain file to look at.

Did you update to 1.06, if so remove the update and trying booting the game again with the custom CTF and CTD files.

If it works dont go playing all night, let me know.

Yeah I made sure i had no updates applied when I was trying different things. The only thing i managed to do was edit the common.rpf. If anyone on here has more experience with modding gta files let me know and ill send you the files.
