is there a way to JB or use CFW eventually without upgrading trying to stay away from the Cinivia and other crap they put in other firmwares

its sittin in abox so Im in no rush , any thoughts

Even if there was a payload or CFW no homebrew or games released after this version would work. I would suggest upgrading to 3.41 and using a jailbreak dongle. It will have Cinivia but you could always use something like TVersity to get around that.

thanx I'll wait it out and just mess with snother one thats already at 3.41 ( not a fan of cinivia)

I copy movies to my PS3 and I've never had issues with it muting audio. I do see people complain about it so I guess they're doing it wrong? lol

Only blu-rays are affected, and trust me the protection works, when i backed up my bluray of Takers it prompted me with a stupid Cinivia message and muted the audio >_< lame.
