    hey,

My next project is I'm interested to how fix faulty PS3 and I'm also dead serious to take the freaking risk to fix this one up I did a few research about how to solve this horrible YLOD. When I'm surfing on the net and try to find the right information to fix PS3, it's hopeless. I hope someone knows how get rid of YLOD.

Any idea? Any links that i can read the information?

There are plenty of tutorials online.

One suggestion, you will come across a page where it explains what the YLoD is in detail, and say that a lot of the time you can change the HDD, and if you are one of those unfortunate ones in which this does not work this guide will help you fix it for sure.

Don't waste your money on that crap.

A simple reflow may or may not fix it, depending on various factors. If there is a lot of dirt, and dust that has made it up under the IC, then from my experience a reflow is likely not going to work. You may have to have it reballed (which is honestly what I'd suggest in the first place, although it's more expensive, risky, and time consuming) but I'd be willing to bet a reball will likely work much longer than most reflows.

But if the issue is caused by a break in the solder joint, a good reflow may actually do the trick.

Then again you have the rare cases where the power supply or HDD seems to be causing the issue.

Yeah, indeed. One reflow tutorial is ok and it's too risking to fix it up but the rest of their tutorials were not that good.

I'm keen to fix the ps3, I hope there is another way around to keep it cool and put a good custom power supply on ps3. i have been thinking that Arctic Silver stuff is act like "heatsink cream" or "clean the dust"? why can't they put a better heatsink machine or cooling system to keep it cool??? if it does work, i will share it with everybody. If i can't fix that, i would just give up and buy a slim ps3 instead.
