FIXED: Hard Drive Upgrade Fail, error: 8002F225
FIXED: Hard Drive Upgrade Fail, error: 8002F225 –

***UPDATE***
This problem has been solved. Read below for answers.
*******
I have a PS3 Slim 160GB that is amost full, so I decided to upgrade the harddrive to a 1tb WD, nice drive.
My PS3 is on official 3.56 (wasnt me who upgraded!), and the hard drive swap went well. Just inserted the new HD in without the HD cage and it worked fine.
The PS3 booted fine, and said it needed the 3.56 PUP on a flash stick, I downloaded this, and followed the the instructions on screen.
I recived an error, 8002F225 Corrupt Data.
It appears that the 3.56 fw will not allow you to supply the pup via USB.
Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get this working?

I have worked out a way to fix this.
Basicly, you have to use the exact same PUP that is installed on the machine, not just the same version, but same actual file.
So, what I did to fix it was to install my old hard drive, do a sysyem update via the XMB using my USB stick and my downloaded 3.56 PUP.
After the update was sucessfull, change the hard drive AGAIN, then follow the onscreen instructions, and it worked.

Now I just have to restore my backup.

It might be because there are two different versions of 3.56. Sony sneaked us 3.56v2 without warning. v1 had a hard drive problem.
Your console probably had 3.56v1 on it. Once you installed the new HDD and it asked for the firmware on a USB stick, your USB stick had 3.56v2 on it (uknowingly). This would be the cause of the error code.
You then proceeded to update via XMB. Probably bringing the console to 3.56v2. Thus next time you tried installing, it was successful as both console and USB stick had the exact same firmware.

Hi
I have this same issue however I am not upgrading my HDD, I am reformatting to FAT32 due to corrupted data and I now need to install the update. However I can't install the 3.56v2 onto my system due to the fact that all of that stuff is gone. I was wondering if consequently the firmware on the system would be different to that of the firmware on the USB drive and if so is that the reason for the 8002F225 error code telling me about corrupt data.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
