firmware update to 3.41

hi all i have just ordered my ps3break today

and when reading the guides it says firmware has got to be 3.41

my ps3 firmware is 2.53

i never go online with it to play games .

i downloaded the 3.41 firmware from ps3freak
copyied to a formated fat usb stick

went to my system update on my ps3
and selected update via storage device
and it says (no appicable update can be found )

i have tried 2 usb sticks none work

the update name is PS3UPDAT.PUP

any one know whats i am doing wrong

Create a folder named PS3 in the root of the drive, a folder called UPDATE in that folder, then place the .pup in there. So it should look like

x:\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP

just to mention your usb stick needs to be formatted to fat32.

hi m8 thanks that work a treat now system is 3.41 and i have the internet disable

now i have formated an external dos the external need to be ntfs or fat32

does it have to be ntfs for games over 4 gig ?
