firmware question

A friends brother updated his ps3 and i was wondering if he restored ps3 system and put in a new hard drive can he just put 3.41 on it or is the 3.42 firmware stored somewhere else.

Your friend should kill his brother. There is no way that a new harddrive would fix it. your screwed.

nope. There is no way to downgrade the 3.42. Screwed sorry
