Firmware 3.41

HI all totally useless guy here , i have 3 playstations runnig 3.41 all slim models 320gb drive upgraded to 500 gb. I am looking to play call of duty black ops, and i am using a ps3key, cant get it to work. Do i install 3.55 custom firmware and throw out my ps3 keys?? if so can someone give me a tutorial??? To install the custom firmware ?Cheers in advance!
