    Hello all,

I have a 1T WD 2.5 external HDD that i've formatted in fat32 to put external backups and the PS3 does not see it.

When I use FTP to browse the PS3 i only have dev_usb which i can't open but not the ext HDD.

    What can i check ?

    Thanks for the help

Double check that it's FAT32 formatted. If this is a WD Elements drive, there were some users yesterday complaining that it wasn't working for them. So, there may be some drives out there that just can't be detected by the PS3 even if it is formatted correctly.

The USB 3.0 drives have been having issues. I'm not sure if any of them work on the PS3

Windows doesn't know how to format large drives in fat32. I had to use a 3rd party program to do it when I did mine. Don't remember what it was called. Google it.

What version of windows are you guys using? Windows 7 has better HDD support and may be able to sort the issue. If not try a third party partitioning software. Get the trial or find a free solution.
