    Hello everyone,

Just have a question, my BD on my PS3 is gone, i can insert a disk and the little blue light comes on but the game doesn't show up on the XMB so im guessing the laser has died on me. I have managed to backup my games on my brothers PS3, which took me ages but now only a couple of them work diskless

I am wondering if it is at all possible to 'trick' the PS3 into thinking that i have a disk inserted. so when I'm using Multiman (1.16) i can do the emulate BD thing, I'm guessing no otherwise i would of read about it somewhere by now but is there another option out there that i don't know about?

    Thanks

Nope no way currently, laser only. You could wait and hope someone comes out with a method to launch everything without a BD but i've not heard of anything yet.

I've gotten it as far as being able to mount a dummy /dev_bdvd, but I'm having trouble getting any further. Currently I'm trying LV2 reversing and syscall logging, maybe I'll find something. Sadly I don't have a working PS3 to dump the memory from to compare

I've thought about this for a while, would love to be able to use 4 of my PS3's that have dead lasers.. Sounds very interesting DangerBlarg, could you not just get one with a dead laser for cheap and use that? Or do you need a working laser?
oralphie: Will this allow chuck norris to play backups??? PLZ HELP!!!

I would need one with a working blu ray to compare. I have ordered a new laser diode for this unit, so I'll check again when I have soldered it in.
