How good is the upscaling for dvd movies on the ps3???

I have a 1080p plasma tv.

Is it a good idea to buy now, or should i wait until ps3 slim comes out???

afaik the upscaling on the ps3 is really good i own one myself and havent had problems with upscaling in the past though i mostly use my 360 for such a feat.
