I'm trying to fix a Dualshock3 controller. The R2 trigger is broken, and I've found that there are apparently different models of Dualshock 3s. There are models that have removable pieces between the 1 and 2 triggers, and the other model has the 2 triggers completely enclosed with no removable bit inbetween. Inside, one model has the trigger springs on metal rods and the other has the springs on a plasic rod insert. The model I'm repairing uses the plastic rod inserts, but R2 one is broken--as is the R2 trigger itself. I do have one of the triggers that uses a metal rod, but it doesn't seem to fit quite right. (With the metal rod trigger installed it seems the R2 is stuck in the pressed position.)
Any ideas on getting the metal rod trigger working with the differing model? If not, could someone direct me for a plastic rod insert type replacement trigger? These seem to be a little hard to find, the ones I can find are difficult to determine if they're the correct type.
