Download Install Full Games Free, Possible?
Download Install Full Games Free, Possible? –

All this talk about jail breaking.
Isn't there a way to simply download free full versions of games online through the browser?
We can install demos or full games through the playstation store.
The playstation seems to work just like a pc, download the file and then install it.
I don't know if it isn't possible to install off the browser or installing is something you have to do through the store, I haven't investigated too much into it, but I don't see why it wouldn't install off a website, unless it doesn't know where to save the file, which would just need a way to send it to a directory.
Note: Is the glass half empty or half full? The question is retarded, it's neither,it's half gone, which may make me sound stupid, but why waist time on a question that will get you no farther than you started.

yes you can download games directly from the ps3's browser but the problem is most places you look have the files in compressed RAR format which wouldn't do you any good. You won't find too many uncompressed PKG files out there. If you do find some, just point your browser to them and in most cases they will save to an external hard drive. You then go into your package manager and install from there. The problem is that by default the ps3 will connect only one continuous data stream to a download making your download take forever. Your computer has access to download managers that let you connect multiple times to the same file. By doing so, you can download at your max internet speed.

you mentioned that you would need to install them with the install package files.....which that is only on a jailbreak system.
If you had that, you could just use a backup manager.
For my situation, I have a 4.0 which obviously, at the moment, cannot be jail broken, so I won't be able to get the install package files, although kakaroto said he was able to get the install package files on 4.0 but it isn't able to install anything from them. I wonder if this would work on it, but than again you said they are hard to find, but if they are rar files and they just need to be saved to the external hard drive, since that's where you said they normally save.
I could download the rar file from my computer, open it up, I am guessing there is a pkg file in there, put that on my external hard drive from my computer....plug external hard drive into the ps3 and install through install package files (if it would install).

If you're on 4.0, then you're not going to have much luck installing full games the way you're talking about. There are some cracked games out there from duplex and repacks by blackatoo. I'm not entirely sure how they would work on a 4.0 machine, but there is a way of transferring pkg files to your ps3 through an ftp connection. The install files end up being placed in your XMB (you may have to reset after transferring for them to show up). Like I said, most games you see are compressed into rar files, so you would have to download them to your pc, set up an ftp server on your pc and point the Brewology pkg downloader to your PS3's FTP address and to the FTP server location of the pkg file that you set up. You can check out the Brewology downloader at http://www.brewology.com/psn/downloader.php . They have a lot of download stuff there, but most of it is useless without the activations so don't bother with those. It might be worth checking out. It might end up being something cool for the people stuck on 4.0. You'll have to do it because I'm not updating to 4.0

Also if you do decide to try this and install cracked games on 4.0 you run the risk of being banned from PSN. Try this at your own risk

After thought - it might not work if you don't have an ftp client on your ps3. You can try pointing it to your ps3's ip address, but IDK if that will work

Honestly I've always believed that if Sony were to support full access to content online, ie having the ability to download any full game on psn and install directly to an internal/external drive, a lot of support for the jailbreaking community would break away. Not to mention support for third party content creation, it would be a huge step and would very clearly define who is and who is not pirating software.

I don't see that website working, since it states to start up in jailbreak mode, which I am unable to do.
Is there a program for the pc, so I can copy the game and than put it on my external hard drive and play off the external on the ps3?
I see programs such as copy game wizard, which I am unsure if it is a scam or not, but if it wasnt wouldn't I need to purchase a blue ray reader for $80 for my computer to read the games?
