Lately my PS3 reads disc loudly when I turn on the console, why is that?
(maybe it's since I've installed the True Blue CFW, few days ago, but I'm not sure... I had 3.41 before that)
Well, I never play from disc, so it is not that big trouble, but it wasn't loud like this few weeks ago (there wasn't any noticable noise), and now you can clearly hear it for a few mins...
I could play without disc (probably?), but I read that it is better to have a disc in the drive to keep dust off from there, and a few minute noise isn't annoying that much, I just wonder why is this (especially cause you can say that the drive wasn't ever used)

I've always considered the PS3's drive to be loud. Could you have just not noticed it before? As for dust, the drive has a dust cover to prevent that from happening. Look closely at the spot where you insert the disc. If there's no gaps, then I think you'll be okay. Also, it's worth pointing out that dust will collect even if there is a disc in there spinning. Think of a house fan and how it gets dusty even if you run it 24/7.
