Demo Mode 40GB PS3

Was wondering if I purchase a Phatboy (40gb) that is in demonstration mode, I know I can enter a code to unlock the normal ps3 features.
Will I be able to install an OFW or a CFW. It is below 3.55 so I figured I would try. Thanks in advance.

If it's below 3.55 you are good to go, so long as you are sure you can get it out of demo mode like you said.

As far as I know, there is a 4 digit code you enter to exit demo mode then can install an OFW from recovery mode? And then from there install a CFW?

the easiest way to convert is to update to 3.55 then get into fsm and install 3.55 OFW with lv2diag.

even if the ps3 is 4.21 demo mode..... all you have to do is dump the flash contents, then patch the dump for normal downgrade, then flash the patched dump, then install rogero v3.7 in FSM, just like normal downgrade from 3.56+

its easier if your already on 3.55, then all you have to do is trigger fsm and then install the 3.55 OFW pup in FSM

I was just reading about PS3MFW builder, can this be used to convert my 3.55 pup to retail and then just install via system update?

Is there a way around triggering FSM? I don't have any kind of dongle. Just flash drives. Thank You.
