dead ps3...what about saved game data!?!?
dead ps3...what about saved game data!?!? –
Ps3 (60gb) got for christmas died(froze) while playing singleplayer GTAIV. The led's light up you have to turn it on with the system's button, then solid green led, but it does NOTHING no picture/audio on hdmi or component or composite, tried with different tv's etc...it's DEAD. How do I retrieve my saved game data!?! If I send it to Sony to be fixed...IF I can find a receipt for it, I'll lose all my data! WTF!?!?!?
You did not backup you save games?
There is a separate backup tool. A bit late now if you did not already know.
Did not know...I don't suppose my PC will recognize any data from the ps3's hd? Any software to do so?
Did you try opening the ps3 and checking if there is a blown up Fuse maybe that causing the problem.
any software? –
Don't want to void the warranty...Led's lit red, then solid green when you turn it on. It has power, it just doesn't do anything. Also, if you push the button on the controller, it never assigns/communicates with the system, and you have to hold the power button on the ps3 itself for like 10 secs to get it shut off, and when it does, the green light doesn't flash, it just goes to red.
Is there anything(software) out there that will let me browse/retrieve data off of the ps3 hd if I put it in a PC? I'd rather like to get my saved game data before sending it out, as I'm sure it won't be there when I get it back!
Uhm, try video reset...people seem to think their console is dead when in fact the video mode got corrupt.
Turn back power switch off then on (red light should be on you are in standby) hold the power button for about 10 seconds, it will beep once while holding then beep a second time, this will reset video.
I tried that dozens of times, it didn't work. Sony Customer reps also had me do that plus others, there never was any video or audio...It was actually a friend's unit and he has since had three different refurbed units from Sony all of which worked for about a week, then lock up after an hour or so of play. It was one of the original B.C. units (60gb) and he is in the process of sending it out to get a fifth one...I myself ended up buying a 40gb model and have never had any problems with it.
Sounds like your friend is doing something to **** up PS3s ... I really haven't heard to many PS3 horror stories and thats way to frequent.
try putting the ps3 into recovery by holding down the power button untill you here 3 beeps may work
