Deactivate ps3 seeking for an update

My PS3 is not connected to the internet right now, because I don't want the please update message every time I open my PS3. But now one of my games need at internet connection to download some extra contents (Fallout 3 game of the year edition).

Is it possible to deactivate ps3 seeking for an update and still update games? I know I won't be able to use the store and online play. I am on fw 3.41 (not jailbroken yet) and don't want the please update popup?

go in to settings, internet conection disable, thats it

He cant download game updates if he did that.

dragonbook just disable PSN auto login function and connect your PS3 to the internet.
You will download game updates without problem and you will not get the "New firmware is available" message.
