Connecting the PS3 with a non-HDCP compliant monitor... –
Hi guys! Well I'm looking into buying a PS3, but I have hit a problem. All along, I had the plan to buy a HDMI-DVi cable, and then connect the PS3 up with my Viewsonic VA1912wb 19" Widescreen monitor. But then I found out that for this to work, the monitor needs to be HDCP compliant, which mine is not! So is there any device available in the market through which I can still use my non-HDCP monitor with the PS3 ?? Or is there no hope ??
I know about HDFury and Neoya, but I can't find any specific statement on their website which confirms that their device works with a non-HDCP monitor, like mine...
The whole point of HD fury is to emulate the HDCP compliance so you can hook up any analog or digital monitor, depending on which HD fury you buy.
OK, I checked out HD Fury in more detail...turns out, it does what I need..it makes my non-HCDP compliant device, into a HDCP compliant device !!
The down point though is that its pretty expensive..nearly the same amount of money which would cost me to exchange my current monitor for a brand new HDCP compliant 22" one...
I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to HDFury, if its available...
