    Hello everyone,

I have a ps3 slim running 3.55 Kmeaw cfw. I have the stock ps3 harddrive of about 120gigs and that's not enough to run jack. I was thinking of changing the harddrive to about a 640 gigs so my questions are:

    - Changing the harddrive will cause me to have to reinstall 3.55 again
    - Can all the apps be backed up

Any help or if this has already been asked and solved can just give me a link to the post and ill read it up. Thanks

Only NAND fat PS3s can upgrade a hard drive without reinstalling the firmware. All apps, but not trophies, can be backed up with the official tool.

Yes. Grab 3.55 OFW here http://ps3scenefiles.com/category.php?id=10

It will back up everything, multiman, any installed pkg, even game backups.

C'mon everybody has have to learn this :
With Rebug CFW you can change your HDD without losing any data.
And I have done this almost 100 times.

    Install Rebug 3.55.2/3 over Kmeaw
    Go to Debug Settings
    Select The HDD Change Utility
Connect your new HDD via Usb Box...
Almost 15-30 min. later you're done...
Change the hdd and play where you left off...

I've been meaning to look at that. I had thought that a 1 TB internal drive would be big enough but I've been fighting for space for a while and I've got a bunch of internal only games stored on my external drive. Are there any drawbacks to doing that? Does everything get copied or just what's in your home folder and dev_hdd0/game?
Fiery the angels fell. Deep thunder rolled around their shoulders... burning with the fires of Orc.
