Changing PS3 Harddrive
Changing PS3 Harddrive –
11-05-2012,10:07 PM
Hello everyone,
I have a ps3 slim running 3.55 Kmeaw cfw. I have the stock ps3 harddrive of about 120gigs and that's not enough to run jack. I was thinking of changing the harddrive to about a 640 gigs so my questions are:
- Changing the harddrive will cause me to have to reinstall 3.55 again
- Can all the apps be backed up
Any help or if this has already been asked and solved can just give me a link to the post and ill read it up. Thanks

Only NAND fat PS3s can upgrade a hard drive without reinstalling the firmware. All apps, but not trophies, can be backed up with the official tool.

C'mon everybody has have to learn this :
With Rebug CFW you can change your HDD without losing any data.
And I have done this almost 100 times.
Install Rebug 3.55.2/3 over Kmeaw
Go to Debug Settings
Select The HDD Change Utility
Connect your new HDD via Usb Box...
Almost 15-30 min. later you're done...
Change the hdd and play where you left off...

Are there any drawbacks to doing that? Does everything get copied or just what's in your home folder and dev_hdd0/game?
Fiery the angels fell. Deep thunder rolled around their shoulders... burning with the fires of Orc.
