Change HD 3.73 –
I want to change the hd of my ps3 (CECH-3001) 160gb for one with 640gb. I tried yesterday but I received error of data corrupt with the new HD and I only fixed it putting my old HD back.
Isn't possible to change the hd?
You can either try to format the new hard drive in FAT32, or delete the partition and let the PS3 handle it after you install the new drive. When I replaced mine, it was a brand new drive and I'm pretty sure that it wasn't partitioned yet so that might be your problem
Also, did you remember to reinstall your firmware from a USB drive?
Yeah, I plugged the pendrive with the firmware, but my hd was formatted like ntfs and I received a corrupt data error. I formated the hd on computer for fat32 , but when I tried again the ps3 say the same thing (corrupt data error).
Plug it back into your computer and delete the partition. On windows you can do it through Computer Management in the administrative tools section. Don't format the partition after doing this. Try plugging it back into the ps3 and trying again
when i did mine i had to have the fw on a usb stick to reinstall it while formating the new hdd
i used kmeaw 3.55 cuz i had it already installed and didnt want to risk doing it with ofw
Just checking to see if you had any luck or if you're still stuck
