CECHG01 NOV 07 40GB EDITION
CECHG01 NOV 07 40GB EDITION –
Trying to figure out what my options are to get this unit setup. I've read a bit about my options, but one post here says to use E3 yet other post on E3 say my unit is a "NAND" and they don't support NAND using E3.
So I read a little on Progskeet which seems to support NAND, but they don't have much info if it's a solderless solution or not.
Also trying to find out what Progskeet tools I'll need. I suppose I need at least the 1.1 PCB, but do I also need the JTAG, Adaptor PCB, and NAND PCB 1GBIT?
e3 is supposed to have a solution for nand consoles soon...web page says a couple of weeks....i myself am waiting to see how that turns out...
Well looks like I didn't do enough research ahead of time, but my firmware was at 3.0 or something low already. I talked to a friend of a friend who set me up with multiman, but I noticed he put on a REAL old version like 220.127.116.11 or something like that. He also said I can't play any new games with my setup unless I get a true blu. I was looking into that, but read about fakes. Can anyone suggest a location where I won't have to worry about fakes and how hard is it to update Multi-Man to a new version or is it even necessary? Seems like almost all my games work fine with the exception of a couple that I'm still researching.
That link will take you to the news thread about multiman with the latest update available.
I'm not sure if you can do a direct update through the ps3 with a version that old.
You should be able to put the download in the above link onto a flash drive (after extracting the package file) and simply install it with the package manager on your ps3.
I would much rather go to my grave not needing my gun, than go there wishing I had it.
Worked like a charm. Thanks for the follow up. I now have the latest mmCM so I'm getting used to using the CP.
On a side note is it possible to run a crossover cable from a pc to the ps3 to stream the games from instead of using an external drive? I have my HTPC on the rack above my PS3 and it would be nice to make a direct connection and not have to worry about a clunky external drive sitting next to the unit.
