Can't get into recovery mode or reset video settings

Hello guys. I was watching a movie with showtime when my tv screen went black and I could not turn the ps3 off using the capacitive button. I turned it off using the back button and when I turned it back on I still had no video output. I've been trying to reset my video settings for a couple of hours but I can't get it to work. Once I hold the power button it takes forever for the console to beep(more than 30 seconds) and when it does, it beeps only once and the console shuts down immediately. Any ideas?

Did you try unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in. I would say use the composite cables if you have them, too. Other then that, it sounds f@cked up. Good luck!

I would check out the video on YouTube just to make sure you're doing the procedure right, other than that you might have a faulty power button (I knew all that power+eject Jailbreaking couldn't be that good on them)

I don't have the sound hooked up on my computer right now so I'm not sure if your doing it correctly, but if you get one beep followed by another beep after a second or two then sysem shut-down your video setting should be reset

If you let go after the first beep, it is supposed to put you in the lowest video mode possible. I assume, when you let go, you get nothing. Just black screen until you turn off your system?

that to me sounds wrong the beep at :03 would be the intial beep there should be another beep in there around :38 or :42

now I tried it one time and just heard the startup sound for about 7-8 seconds then the HDMI message showed, another time HDMI message showed up before startup sound the PS3 is screwy like that

Sounds f@cked. If I was you, I would try to find someone with a PS1/2/3 and try to get the composite cables, and see if that helps. They all work, PS1, PS2, PS3, it is the same cable.
