Can you restore a copied User profile if the original is deleted?
Can you restore a copied User profile if the original is deleted? –
3.60 spoofer tool borked my 60gb fat model. Had to boot into recovery menu and reinstall kmeaw 3.55. After that, my user profile was toasted. It was there, with an asterisk next to it, but all games saves are not accessible. I edited the username to delete the asterisk, but that didn't help. So I deleted the user through the XMB menu, since it was useless.
However, I do have a backup made by FTP of the whole user profile folder from before I upgraded harddrives. I didn't use the PS3 backup tool, I used Multiman to FTP it to my computer. But when I copy this folder back into the "home" folder on the PS3, the username/profile isn't restored on the XMB.
I booted into recovery menu and ran rebuild database and restore file system, but nothing helps.
Is there something else I need to copy back from my old HD backup to the new one to restore an old user profile?

No its not the spoofer that messed everything up on my ps3, its heavy rain. When i tried to resign a savegame. It would just reboot the game when i tried to load it. So i deleted the whole savegame folder. But then it allways gave errors.
I tought no problem i just backup the 00000001 folder i backed up yesterday. But now im f*cked cause not all the profile/thopy data is in that folder...
