12-05-2010,02:26 AMMine does this all the time when I switch from hdmi to componet video cables. Try holding down the power button for 20 seconds when you turn it on and it may reset the video and work again. Have to do this when I go to my bedroom. Hope that is all it is and you got a sweet deal.

02-01-2011,06:53 PMI'm having the same issue with my phat PS3. I've done the video reset and still nothing. The HDD light does not flash but I can jailbreak the thing and put it in service mode using the downgrader dongle.
No matter what there is no video. At one point I could tear it down and reassemble and it would work but that isn't doing it anymore.
Any thoughts? I'm guessing a bad solder joint on the GFX chip so I'm gonna do a reflow in about a week. Figured I'd ask till then.
/hazeThe worst part about people saying 'Just Search' is that if you are not familiar with the site you don't know what terms search for. On the flip side if you do read the site daily all you see is the same 20 questions over and over and it is tuff not to be a douche.
