Broken Blu-ray drive [Video]
Broken Blu-ray drive [Video] –

Hi,
First of all, my english are really bad. But i hope you can understand me anyway.
I bought a 60GB ps3 a few days ago. The guy who sold it to me told me that the BR drive doesn't work properly. He said the ps3 "think" it has a CD inside, but it hasn't. Well, i checked it out, and that wasn't the problem. When i (carefull) open the BR drive, I noticed a disc inside. Guitar Hero 2 for the PS2 (
)
I managed to remove the disc from the drive, and then pull it back in, but i get the same error. To long time to "sweep" it in to the drive (You can notice it dosen't come in the right place), the ps3 can't read it, and it's not possible to eject the disc.
Check out my video: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cZP8gs068A]YouTube - ps3 problem[/ame]
Someone knows what's wrong? I can't find any parts that dosen't look to fit in the right place.
Thanks for your help!

Watching that video gives me deja-vu. I can't say for sure, but in my experience you need to reset the drive mechanism. Try this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrdAH1mfpQ0]YouTube - PS3 manual eject[/ame]
If that doesn't solve at least the insert/eject problem, the controller card on the bottom is borked, and unless you have a new fresh card and smt soldering skills, you may be out of luck. (If the card is shot, you have to de-solder some chips containing the system's ID, etc, from the old one and transplant them to a new card.) I've attempted this myself, and it was a disaster, however, I'm not a soldering expert nor do I have a proper reflow station.
If this does fix the insert/eject issue, but the drive won't read discs properly, you need a new laser unit.
Hope this helps.
