Bricked/broke CECHL01, causes?
Bricked/broke CECHL01, causes? –
activities in chronological order: play Tokyo jungle (NPUA) for awhile, reboot, run MM to load Gundam Unicorn, copy secure file Id dumper SPRXs to dev_blind/vsh/module, run the dumper/loader, load gundam unicorn, play a mission, save, reboot, MM, put back original sprxs, play tokyo jungle some more, run MM to put modded sprxs back, run the dumper/loader, play Jet set radio for a couple stages, reboot, run mm to check and make sure i got the SFID for JSR, run the dumper/loader, play flower a little, reboot... and Ps3 won't output video/sound, or sync controllers.
I'm not sure if I bricked (because of the reboots before it stopped working) or if it overheated and something (maybe rsx) came loose. Recovery mode won't work at all (no dual beeps, just one to turn on and one to turn off)
So I've taken it apart and cleaned it a bit, put it back together and tried again.. same stuff.
Also of note, Multiman reported my CPU/RSX temps to be around 170 degrees Fahrenheit every time I've ran it for the past month.. That normal?
I was thinking what might've happened was the sprx's might've become corrupt in-transfer to the ps3 because my wireless card has sending/receiving errors every now and then (not frequent). But then, why would it work for JSR before screwing up on Flower?
no video (except sometimes a black screen when I turn it on), no sound, no recovery mode (and no video reset mode), no controller sync. Green light and can take/eject discs.
I've already got a 3.55 slim coming my way so I'm not that worried about it. But the dev of the dumpers/loaders, flat_z says there's no real chance they could've caused it. So did my ol' fat finally overheat and not give me a YLOD?
also will my new ps3 be able to read everything on my ps3's HDD fine, if I update it to the same FW first?
ED: found out that you normally have to format other ps3 HDDs but there's a way around it.. that's good.
My friend reports his slim runs around 120/113F (cpu/rsx) so it probably was an overheat
