Blu-ray rip using PS3?

I was just sitting here wondering if this is possible. I know at one point there was a method using linux. Could a dev write an app (pkg... of course for us noobs) that would accomplish this?

Have you tried using the file manager in MultiMan? The disc should be visible and can be copied to an external device. I think that's what I did when I ripped my "Ultimate Royce Gracie" BluRay.

or you could just load multiman highlight the disc and press square then choose copy in the menu that pops up
