    Hi, all.

I'm having some trouble with my blu-ray drive. I'm on a fat ps3.

The drive is not accepting discs (no auto insertion).

I've opened 'er up and I've attached pictures of what I see.

From what I understand, I need to re-attach the ribbon cable for the drive.
However, I don't see any ports in plain sight that I can attach it to.

    Any tips?

    Hi Quicksilver,

I think from the looks of the first photo that your model of PS3 has the connector for the BDROM ribbon cable underneath the poer supply.
Remove screws holding the power supply in place then lift the PSU straight up and evenly. You should then see the ribbon cable connector.

Good luck, fingers crossed it sorts it for you.

    Woohoo!

Thanks bro, that did the trick.
All of the guides I looked up on youtube and elsewhere referred to PS3 models with the white/metal PSU. I'm guessing mine (with the black, plastic PSU) is an older model.

    Thanks again!

I think, tho I know I will corrected by someone if I am wrong Im sure but the black plastic is the newer model of PS3, metallic PSU was older type.

Define Newer, my CECHL0 has a black plastic power supply. I know it came after CECHA, but before the slims and super slims...
