The Blu-Ray 3D Movies Firmware Update Problem?
The Blu-Ray 3D Movies Firmware Update Problem? –
Some time ago I bought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows BluRay 3D Special Edition. At the time Part 2 of the movie (the 3d one at least) refused to play because my PS3 needed a firmware update (That was a message the ps3 itself was reporting, like one of those Error 8000XXXX). I solved the problem by installing Rebug Spoofer 4.11 first and then, when my TB arrived, by removing it and using True Blue 2.7 (which also spoofs 4.11)
Two days ago I bought my parents Titanic 3D and another issue happened. The movie loads just fine but then, before the title screen, a message saying my "blu-ray disc player or TV needs firmware update to play 3d" appears. As much as I can tell this is not a PS3 error but it is a "disc" error (it's the disc that prompts the error, not the ps3) so I wonder how this is possible?
I looked into the changelog of the various firmware update after 3.55 and what i found out (regarding blu-ray) was the adding of some HD-audio related option. So I don't think this is the reason the movie won't play 'cause the message seems strictly related to 3d.
