my ps3 was plugged into my TV in HDMI. After powering up, she had a black screen.
removing the hard drive, we realized it had a message on a black background

initially it was format the hard disk on a PC format FAT32.
I restart the PS3 in recovery mode and tried to format the hard disk with the PS3, without success. i tried also to update with recovery mode.
I tried to install the firmware 3.56, 3.56v2 et3.60. every time I have the same message 'error damaged firmware 8002C5f2 "

    can someone help me?

PS: i'm french. my english isn't very good. Sorry

try to boot in recovery mode
    PS3 slim@3.55kmeaw 1750gb of total storage

FW<=3.55 games all 100% working clean with no fix pkg installed, no more freezes/blackscreens!
FW 3.56 games working with external eboot(no overwrite)
still have problems? it's due a faulty rip!
IT'S TIME TO UPGRADE FROM 3.41! IT'S EASIER, IT'S BETTER

Sorry, sounds like the 3.56v1 firmware bug...

If you have the original HDD..GOOD!
Just put it back in and install the firmware to 3.56v2 or 3.60. Then you can put the new drive in and it will format OK.

If you do not have the original drive that was installed at the time of update to 3.56...BAD! You must have the original drive in the machine to continue/ update to allow a working PS3

No drive with any partition make-up with any update will ever work until a way to exit service mode on 3.56 is established (LV2 keys etc..then any replacement of firmware will work).

I have a beautiful Classic white unit sitting in this semi-brick state.
All because I updated my "legal" machine within a bad 3 day window of firmware 3.56v1 (soon corrected by Sony with silent release of 3.56v2 which fixed the issue).

Sony know about this and have rectified free in some cases, not in mine though 'cause I bought from Renchi HK.

Focus is now then on my release model running Kmeaw 3.55 etc.
