X-Men First class? If my google skills are good, that one was released in september?
You have the same problem as me then. You used a too recent disc, that revoked the 3.55 BD player software, which means the only way for you to recover BD playback is to update to 3.7x. And I'm not 100% sure even that will work.
And no, converting to a debug machine would only make the problem worse, debug machines aren't allowed to run BD movies at all.
EDIT : Now that I think about it, it seems that you will get this issue after using a recent BD AND reinstalling firmware. This could have to do with the BDPrevoke package on the PUP, but I don't know if it's a good idea to patch it out of a MFW.
EDIT 2 : I just got an idea on how to restore BD playback, I will test it later today if I can. Might be a bit costy however, it will involve replacing the BD logic board. I had a bought a spare one of those before thinking I could fix BD playback with it, and maybe I can do this with OtherOS++. I also think Mark Webber said BD playback will be broken again if you leave OtherOS++ because that BDPrevoke file in the firmware is what screws things up.
