Backing up PS3 Disc to blank media

This probably has been asked many times and I did a search but the results is like looking for a needle in a stack of needles so here goes...

Since the PS3 has been cracked more or less is anyone working on a program to copy the original disc to blank bluray media? It seems like it would be possible now but I don't have a clue so this is why I'm asking.

Just seems like a reasonable way to go instead of taking the chance of bricking the system.

AFAIK, it can't be done, but I'm not sure why.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think there's some kind of catch with the protections and making copies and the bluray drive itself but really not sure, just wishful thinking someone could. No biggie though I'll just have to buy a bigger internal drive and it's cheaper than blank media anyway lol.
